Student Bio

Krysta Skinner is in her 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering program at the Pennsylvania State University. She will graduate in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree, with a focus on mechanical systems. She has taken the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in October 2011 and plans on receiving EIT status upon graduation.

Krysta held an intern position with HGA Architects and Engineers, a nationally recognized AE firm, in their main office in Minneapolis, MN. This internship helped Krysta gain more experience and get a better understanding of the MEP industry. After graduation, she will begin work with HGA Architects and Engineers as an entry level Mechanical Engineer.

Outside of classes, Krysta is involved in the Student Society of Architectural Engineers and the Penn State Woodsmen Team. With her involvement on the Woodsmen Team, Krysta has traveled to Canada, New York and West Virginia and has interacted with students in different majors in the Penn State community. Also, Krysta is able to spend time in the outdoors away from technology and surround herself with nature while learning the true meaning of working together on a team during competitions and practices.
